Week 2 Weigh In...

Last week... 237 pounds
This week... 232 pounds

I LOST 5 POUNDS!  Now, I am pretty surprised!  I figured that I wouldn't lose more than a few pounds because I have already been working out HARD for 2 years... Well, I'm not going to complain! :-)

I have been asked what I am doing differently with my weight loss "this time" since I am already exercising so much.  I am watching my food with the Weight Watchers Points program.  I have had success with that in the past, so I'm sticking to what I know.  Also, and probably more important, I am doing my weigh-ins on Monday mornings... that in itself is HUGE!  In the past, I have set my weigh in date for Thursday or Friday mornings.  That way, I could "justify" being "kinda bad" on Friday, Saturday and Sunday... and get back on track on Monday.  NO WONDER I was spinning my wheels... it would take me the whole week to lose the weight I had put on over the weekend.

This weekend was a perfect example... Saturday night... dinner with the Seltmanns then to their house for cocktails and a game of "Chicken Foot."  Normally, I would have had a personal pizza or sandwich at Round Table, a few cocktails, and lots of the candy and nuts that Mindy has at the table when we play games.  Instead, I had the salad bar (yes, I did have a few bites of Jeff's pizza), one cocktail, and about 10 M&M's (10 total... one at a time...)  Sunday, we went to the Dana Point Harbor El Torito for the All You Can Eat Sunday Champagne Brunch to celebrate Jessica's 21st birthday... (seriously, just shoot me now!)  So, how did I handle this one...?  First, no champagne (3 large glasses of ice water)... one plate of salad... lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro and some light salad dressing.  Then, when I was just about full, I went back and had some vegetable omelete (only a sprinkle of cheese and salsa) and two bites of an enchilada (I cut it before I started eating and gave the rest of it to Jeff so I wasn't tempted to eat it all.)  I was able to enjoy the day with the family AND feel like I had a special meal.  All in all, I really only missed the Chile Relleno (my FAVORITE) and the one thing that I wouldn't even allow myself to have...

The family at Dana Point Harbor... for Part 1 of Jessica's 21st birthday celebration.
Sooo... could I have eaten cleaner.. yes.
Did I sabotage myself... no.
Did I find a way to enjoy the meal and not feel totally deprived... yes.
Did I gain any weight yesterday... NO!

It is NOT "dieting"... it HAS to be a CHANGE IN EATING HABITS.
Will I ever eat a Chile Relleno again...?  HELL YEAH!  I'm not permanently giving up things I love...
I'm just giving up this extra weight, first...
and giving Jeff his GIRLFRIEND BACK! ;-)

I am so proud of you! You can do this! Just keep going. I also am using WW and have a Monday weigh in. I have lost 7 lbs so far, in 3 weeks. Slow, but steady. My dd has lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks. I am NOT exercising much, so that is the thing I need to get on board with. Dd does her exercise. She's half way to her goal. My goal is not even in the same book let alone the same page. LOL So I made small goals. Helps me to feel better. So my first small goal...I am halfway there! YAY! We'll talk more on the drive on Sunday!
