I'm the YMCA MEMBER OF THE MONTH! WOOO HOOOOO!

HOLY COW... CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!? I was nominated and chosen to be the Palomar Family YMCA Member of the Month for July!!! For the past several years, I have been SOOOO INSPIRED by the special members that were highlighted at our YMCA. Before and after photos... stories of commitment and determination... I LOVE reading those stories!

And... THIS ... month... it... is... ME!

Of course, I had to take Jeff into the Y and show him my special posting. ((( insert prideful giggles here ))) 4 days until our 10-year anniversary... I have lost almost 50 pounds (since my heaviest)... I feel confident... I'm proud of my accomplishments... and my sweet husband is beaming with pride...

I see a very good anniversary celebration in our immediate future... (tee, hee, hee!)...

An explanation of my social experiment... I'm going "Full Monty"...

"Becoming my Husband's Girlfriend is my definition of the ultimate weight loss peer pressure... my weight loss "Full Monty" if you will. I will be posting my current weight photos and stats... stories about my weight loss and challenges... training that I am doing for 4 athletic events this years... I will be laughing... I will be frustrated... I will be sharing inspiration that I find around me and people whose stories inspire me... and so much more in my ultimate goal to lose weight, get healthy and bring the SEXY BACK to my life and my husband.

I hope you will join me in this journey, because I think there are A TON OF YOU that are probably in a similar point in your life. You might not have a ton of weight to lose, but there is something you want to change... NEED to change in your life. Maybe you are looking for some confidence... maybe you need to get that happy spring back in your daily step... maybe you can't wait to see if this experiment of mine will be a "train wreck" (we all know how much we LOVE a good "train wreck") or if I can actually do it...

... so become A FOLLOWER of this blog (below)... share the story of this "fatty" with your friends... because I can promise you this... we are about to embark on an amazing journey! Fasten your seat belts...

GOALS for the week of June 20 - 27th

1. Find your "Inner Summer..." Your favorite memory of a place... a song... a smell... an annual trip... take that memory and put it into your new Soundtrack for your Head! It doesn't matter if you go there this year or not, tap into those memories and get into the "summer feel!"

2. Summer is about short skirts, bathing suits and hot nights... find your "summer flirt..." I might be a size 14 at the moment, but I sure have found that summer flirt... it is all about the state of mind, ladies! GO get it!

GOALS for the week - June 6 - 13...

This one is simple. Find your next victory... and TAKE IT! We all have different things to celebrate... mine this week was buttoning my blouse. Is yours to lose some weight? To find a half an hour to play, uninterupted, with your toddler or have a quiet chat with your teen? Is it to go to the gym for the first time in years (AWESOME victory!)... or simply to cuddle up with your husband like you used to.

Ohhhhhhh, and be careful, because your victory may very well make someone else's day, too! :-)

GOALS for the Week - April 4 - 11...

GOALS for the Week - March 28 - April 4...

1. Find your own "Heaven" with your husband this week. Dressing up for Jeff... feeling sexy... and going to a concert where my husband couldn't take his eyes off me and wouldn't let go of my hand was my own bit of Heaven.

2. I am 2.6 pounds away from getting rid of the title of "OBESE!" Define your next goal... it doesn't matter the number or the reason, it is YOUR goal!

3. SMILE! Times are tough right now and I know that life is handing so many of us reasons not to smile. SMILE ANYWAY! It will make your heart glow... and make your husband smile, too!
